Free RABitt - Intro to the Cardiac Cath Lab - anatomy, imaging & common pathologies

Presenter: Luke Meeking – Advanced Therapies Applications Specialist at Siemens Healthineers, Melbourne

This lecture will introduce newcomers to the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab space and should provide a handy review for experienced practitioners. We will visually explore the basics of the angiographic Coronary vascular anatomy, with a focus on the Coronary arteries. We will also investigate some common pathologies and treatments seen in the Cath Lab. A must session for all personnel working in a Cath Lab and those with an interest in Cardiac imaging.

Luke is an Applications Specialist with Siemens Healthineers, working in the Advanced Therapies space. After completing a Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging at Monash University, Luke worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Drawing on his experience in these tertiary hospital settings, Luke educates radiographers to use Siemens Healthineers equipment in the Coronary, Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery disciplines. Luke particularly enjoys working in these highly collaborative and educational environments, where multiple disciplines come together to diagnose and treat patients.
