Tony is a medical graduate of the University of Sydney and is currently a senior staff specialist in Radiology in the department of Radiology at Westmead Hospital. He completed his radiology registrar training at Westmead Hospital, followed by a postgraduate fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Body MRI at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois, and later Postgraduate Scholarship in clinical and research musculoskeletal imaging at University of California in San Diego (UCSD).
He is director of MRI at Westmead Hospital, and coordinates medical school teaching in Medical Imaging at the University of the Sydney Western Clinical School. He has been on numerous educational committees of the RANZCR and a senior examiner for the Part II exams for many years. He set up the first fully dedicated MRI postgraduate fellowship in Australia in 1997 providing subspecialty MRI training to over 25 local postgraduate fellows. He is dedicated to teaching medical students, registrars, and paramedical staff, and has hosted in the MRI unit numerous visiting local radiologist specialists and several international radiologists from Asia and the Middle East through WHO initiatives. In 2013 he was visiting professor in the department of Radiology St Luke’s Hospital Quezon City the Philippines and later an invited speaker of the CT/MRI Society of the Philippines at the 2013 Joint Annual Convention with Philippines Society of Ultrasound.
